Discuss how healthcare informatics has been applied to your APRN education.
Improved Coordination of Care
Without all of the necessary information, patient care could suffer. Informatics improves the coordination of this information, allowing nurses to give their patients all of the information they need, improving both outcomes and satisfaction with care.
They educate other nurses, medical providers, and health care workers on how to use clinical information systems and work towards improving these systems to improve patient outcomes. Many places, such as hospitals, behavioral health offices, and family practices, hire nursing informatics educators, to name a few.
Computers are used to search and update patients’ records. A decrease in processing time also allows healthcare providers to accommodate new treatment and procedures without the need for a longer coordination process among other healthcare personnel.
