Another issue is that they can be too vague and/or broad, which makes them less useful for guiding decisions. In order to address these issues, it is important for mission statements to be specific and clear about their goals so that they remain relevant over time. It is also helpful for mission statements to be communicated widely so that everyone understands what their role is within the organization’s mission statement framework.
