HCA 620 Week 5 Discussion 2

Search the GCU Library on the following topic: Strategic Planning. Many strategic plans contain financial data. Discuss how you might include this type of financial data in your CLC Business Plan.

Answer:

As a CLC student, I am always interested in how to incorporate financial data into my business plan. The library has many resources that can help me with this.

First, I would research the different types of financial statements and how they are presented. I could also read about how to calculate profit margins and other indicators of the health of a business.

The next step would be to decide what kind of financial data should be included in my CLC business plan. This will depend on whether we are creating a strategic plan or an operational one (both have different requirements). For example, if we were creating an operational plan for our CLC, then it might not make sense for us to include profit margins or debt ratios because those are not relevant at this stage. If we were creating a strategic plan, however, then it could be helpful to include some information like that in order to demonstrate how we intend to meet our goals.

I think it’s important for us as future business owners to understand how financial statements work so that when we’re creating our own plans they make sense and they don’t leave out any important information!
