HCA 620 Week 8 Discussion 2

Describe your approach to tracking a project. What kinds of issues would you focus on if you were a project manager? Why?

Answer:

I think the best approach for tracking a project is to keep track of the following:

-Task completion

-Time spent on each task

-Costs associated with each task

-Who is responsible for each task (and how many people are working on it)

I would focus on these issues because they are all important to the success of a project and give me insight into where I need to be focusing my attention. If I don’t know what tasks have been completed, when they were completed, and how much they cost me, then I won’t be able to make good decisions about what needs more resources or whether we need more people working on certain projects. And if I can’t track who is responsible for each task, then there’s no way for me to know if any one person is doing too much or not enough—and if I can’t tell that someone isn’t doing their job well enough, then it’s hard for them to improve their performance!
