Answer: NRS 429VN Topic 1 Assignment: Vark Analysis Paper Answered.
Personal learning profiles may be created using the VARK questionnaire to tailor learning preferences and aid in the development of extra, successful learning techniques and communication skills. Neil Fleming launched the VARK learning style model in 2006, and it reflects four modalities: visual, auditory, read/write, and kinesthetic learning styles. It was created with the goal of guiding students to become better learners (Khanal, Koirala, & Shah, 2014). This student will provide a summary of their learning style as well as favored learning styles, compare learning strategy preferences to the identified strategies for their favored learning styles, and discuss how awareness of individual learning styles, preferences, and strategies influences teaching and learning.
Nurses, more than any other health professional, dedicate the bulk of their time to one-on-one patient care, providing them with numerous opportunities to identify educational requirements as well as the preparedness to take in and absorb new knowledge and behaviors. Nurses care for a diverse population that includes people from various socioeconomic origins, a wide range of ages, different cultural backgrounds, prior educational experiences, degrees of competency, and preferred learning methodologies. When dealing with such a diverse spectrum of patients, or in other words, learners, effective teaching may be [cmppp restricted] tough and hard.
According to Michael and Prithishkumar’s article Understanding Your Student: Using the VARK Model, “Teaching is a process of information presentation, whereas learning is typically multivariate and depends on each student’s perspective.”(2014). This student’s VARK score was as followed: visual 10, aural 7, read/write 1, and kinesthetic 8, correlating with the multimodal learning preference. There are seldom instances where just one mode of learning is used creating various combinations of the four modes. Multimodal was further classified into bimodal, tri-modal, and quadri-modal; having two, three, or four preferences respectively (Michael, Prithishkumar, 2014). Visual and kinesthetic were the top two scoring 10 and 8 respectively, making this student a bimodal learner.
The First Topic: Teaching and Learning Styles
Learning styles are the many ways to learn that are based on preferences, weaknesses, and strengths. Learning styles must be addressed when developing a strategy for learners to obtain the intended educational goal. Fill out “The VARK Questionnaire,” which may be found on the VARK website, and then do the following:
- To obtain your questionnaire results, click “OK.”
- Once you’ve decided on your chosen learning style, click on the associated link to see your learning preferences.
- Examine the following learning styles: visual, auditory, read/write, kinesthetic, and multimodal (listed on the VARK Questionnaire Results page).
- Contrast your current favorite learning tactics with the strategies indicated for your preferred learning type.
- Consider how being aware of learning types has changed your perspectives of teaching and learning.
